~ Health benefits of food and spices ~

here you will find an alphabetic list of the many (often unknown) health benefits of the main ingredients of the recipes on my blog.

Yogurt 

 - promotes the digestion of lactose, accelerates the gastric emptying and bowl transit and sustains a healthy gut through             active cultures and thus a well functioning immune system
 -  is a healthy ingrediĆ«nt because it contains few calories (except if full-fat)
 -  contains calcium, important for muscles, vital organs en bones. A lack can lead to osteoporosis. 
 -  is according to a few 90+ yogurt the reason for their longevity, which is in accordance with the name of living cultures               'probiotics' being derived from Greek meaning 'in favour of life' 
 -  also works well on the skin, it is a soft but efficient cleanser, suitable for sensitive skin-types also. It de-greases thanks to         Lactic Acid, refines the pores and stimulates collagen-production (this is wat all expensive anti-age & anti-wrinkle creams         aim at with chemical substances). It's also a welcomer cooler in case of sunburn.
